Head up high; What if we would turn our head slightly backwards, a little bit upwards? Would we look at the world differently? Could we investigate how small we are, just a visitor at this planet for a while. Instead of just looking down. The glass is leaning slightly backwards as well.

Almost Liberated From Gravity; Belonging to the serie mesmerizing the colour effect is really optical. What happens to a painting when you can walk around it? Discover it from all sides? It is almost liberated from gravity? How close can we get to being liberated, that is what this painting is about. The glass is almost liberated from the standard as well.

Becoming Aquatic is an investigation of the blue colour palette. What happens when you dive right in the blue and become one, it’s like being in the water, being a wave or a dolphin. Moving with the water.

The Game Of The Two is referring to a mother and a child. The lines connecting, separating and playing around each other. Are the lines connected or are they separated? By turning the glass 45 degrees, the composition changes. By turning them around, you start playing with them and they start playing with you.

Viewing point in the eyes, tells about the layers of looking. Based on my own blue eye’s, not literally but finding the layers of colour. My way of looking at the world, finding new depts, layers and colours.

What if you would stand exactly inside the cylinder? Open from both sides. This painting invites you in the shape. How would it be, to be in there? An open invitation, with the transparency on both sides. At the same time it’s investigating the shape. Is it more about the lines or about the meeting point, which is leading the composition straight upwards?

‘An ongoing process’, is about two shapes meeting and integrating. They merge and don’t stop, it is an ongoing process. Investigating the shape of the hart. In multiple ways. Literally the shape of the hart, never understanding why it originally always stopt in the middle. For me there was always more. And secondary our physical hart, where the deep blue and strong red meet in this ongoing circling process.

Liberated refering to a free shape, lifted off the canvas, off the grid. Becoming an object. Being able to walk around it. Almost liberated from it’s standard.

This dyptich is about collaboration. The two are keeping their own identity although they clearly belong togehter. They are twins but one of a kind. It’s about collaboration out of equality, without dependance.
