What happens when you see just a section? It’s a suggestion of something bigger. How big would it be? Is it really a circle, or is it an other shape. How would it spatially be? Are they separated or do the two shapes belong together?

Painted on anti-reflective glass the colours are soft and bright. This painting can stand in a standard, or you can frame it with a white background. The experience of the painting is different. You can see the colours reflecting on the side of the glass, which gives the painting an extra dimension. Its form is open and contributes to colour experience. Can you meet the ultraviolet colours? Arranged from stronger at the bottom and softer at the top.

Painted on anti-reflective glass, the effect of the colours is different. They are a bit translucent and due to that the colours get lifted….their true colours appear and the colour backgrounds are visible.

The composer and the dancer… two paintings combined as being one. They work together, loose from gravity, playing and dancing. We framed the painting like that as well, so the glass is still movable and the composition can differ constantly. The colours get reflected on the side of the glass, the effect visible on different sides.

The series ‘colours of nature’ is inspired by colours that surround is in nature. From the brightness of flowers to the colours of ‘de Wadden’, a Dutch sea that falls dry at low tide. They are painted on untreated, pure linen. Prepered to be painted on but their structures still visible. Each one is uniquely painted in a different season, or with a different effect. They are following the rythem of nature, showing their strength of colours or just their fragility. Looking at their colours from real upclose and enlarging them the effect is different.
