Viewing point in the eyes, tells about the layers of looking. Based on my own blue eye’s, not literally but finding the layers of colour. My way of looking at the world, finding new depts, layers and colours.

What if you would stand exactly inside the cylinder? Open from both sides. This painting invites you in the shape. How would it be, to be in there? An open invitation, with the transparency on both sides. At the same time it’s investigating the shape. Is it more about the lines or about the meeting point, which is leading the composition straight upwards?

‘An ongoing process’, is about two shapes meeting and integrating. They merge and don’t stop, it is an ongoing process. Investigating the shape of the hart. In multiple ways. Literally the shape of the hart, never understanding why it originally always stopt in the middle. For me there was always more. And secondary our physical hart, where the deep blue and strong red meet in this ongoing circling process.

Liberated refering to a free shape, lifted off the canvas, off the grid. Becoming an object. Being able to walk around it. Almost liberated from it’s standard.

This dyptich is about collaboration. The two are keeping their own identity although they clearly belong togehter. They are twins but one of a kind. It’s about collaboration out of equality, without dependance.

Where would the meeting point be? And what happens when you look at those meeting points, would it be a different painting? It’s about what you don’t see. Would the other side be mirrored? All questions to discover what you trulely see, beside it’s strongly spatial effect. Is it about it’s shape and how important is the composition when it’s a free shape? You can discover this painting all around ass well on the sides of the artwork.

What happens when you see just a section? It’s a suggestion of something bigger. How big would it be? Is it really a circle, or is it an other shape. How would it spatially be? Are they separated or do the two shapes belong together?

Based on the setting wintersun . His colours are orange on the outside and deep red on the inside. Just like the real setting wintersun. Standing really low at the horizon, his intensity the strongest. When you find the right spot for this painting, he brings you a lot of warmth all year round.
